Default Milling 243 heads

I am just finishing up porting a set of 243 heads and I am wondering how much I should have them milled to bump the compression up with the 228/232 cam I currently have in the car. The previous owner that I got the heads from said the heads have already been to a machine shop so I am not sure how much if any has been milled already.

Have the chambers been touched at all? If not, you can measure the cc on those and from there you can calculate how much was milled.

The only thing in the chamber I have touched is the rough edges where the spark plug comes in that's it.

Then you should be pretty close to stock so CCing the chamber will tell you how much, if any, has been milled off the decks.

You should consider the head gasket you plan to use and the desired quench area in determining how much you want mill. Mine wound up at 10.7.

Thank you I have read through it. Looks like they haven't had anything milled at all.
