Default LQ4: what cam to go with?

I am new to the site. Fairly new to Ls engine building. I recently bought a 04 LQ4 6.0 long block with 85K miles. Its for my 02 Camaro SS roller. I am wondering what would be a good cam. The setup I am going to go with is 241 self mild ported (already have the heads) or 243 nonported, Ls6 intake and throttle body, probably with 4l80 trans with 3600 stall or m6 (undecided) and 4.10 10 bolt for now. The Cams that I'm looking at are TSP 233/239, MS3 or Tsunami. The car will be for street/weekend. I would like to find a really good cam to start with in order to measure the ptv clearance and I will be able to have the head milled .02-.03 to bring up the compression more. Looking to get about 430-450 rwhp. Any good suggestion would be great!

Welcome to the boards, I'm new here as well. I'm sure some of the vendors and old salts around here will chime in and help you out with your cam selection. Personally I would get the trans and rear-end sorted first and then pick your cam based on those. If you go with the automatic the ten bolt rear will last a lot longer although the numericaly higher you go with your gear ratio the weaker it becomes (less teeth). Don't be afraid of the 4L60e either, as they can easily be made to live behind 450whp

Once you get your variables sorted, call Cam Motion. You can get a custom cam for just what you are planning for about the same price as a shelf cam. These cams are ground 100 feet from the folks on the phone. Good people and good stuff.

Ok thanks. I am going to go with the 4l60 with 3600 stall, 4.10 10 bolt. Going to buy some 243 heads. It being an auto, like to get about 410-420 rwhp.

Please hold off on putting 4.10's in a 10 bolt. Even with it being an A4 you'll puke those gears.

The 4.10's for the 10 bolt do not have enough tooth material and are kinda thin. I put a set up next to my 4.11 gears for my 8.8 and talk about night and day.
