Default need help finding oem lq4 piston part #


i broke a ring land on #6 and want to throw another oem piston in, but can't seem to find the right one. ordered one from the stealership using the vin # and they sent me a gen IV piston. engine came out of an 03 express van. vin #1GCHG35U331185686. the piston is the pressed pin style with coated skirt.

What was the part number you received? If its not correct, they should take it back.

I found 89017473 supperceeds 89017238

Should be 2nd design piston with coated skirt and pressed pin rod. about 495 Grams

1st design had no coating and weighed about 450 grams.

You know, I didn't look close enough. The part number I gave above is a .5mm Over size

The one they gave you is correct for a Standard bore. It states it can be used for pressed or floating.

Likely It's just a revised version and has valve relieves as you stated.

Most likely you will need to track down a good used one. Sorry for the confusion.

The description almost seems contradicting, since the wrist pins are different diameters between gen III and gen IV rods/pistons. I never even picked the one they ordered up to try after they told me it came with circlips, I had just assumed it was wrong. Thanks for the help, I'll head to the classified section.
