Bearings/piston/rod choice
This will be my first engine rebuild and decided to go a head and get forged rods, pistons and arp bolts/studs. I have read a lot of threads about what everyone is putting into their builds and just wanted some advice.
The car will be a 90% street car with maybe a few times at the track just to see what it runs. Plan on a d1sc procharge build with brute speed blower cam and Trick flow as cast 220 heads. If I can't get those heads will use the 243/799 heads. Goal would be around the 600+ rwhp. It is a M6 car as well. Money is a factor but I am not in a hurry to get it built.
Cam bearings- summit racing has a set of clevite's. Would those work just fine with the brute speed cam?
Main/rod bearings- clevite's H or P bearings?
Rods-??
Pistons-?? WS6 store has a set of -11 Wiseco would they work fine with boost? I haven't sat down and figured out CR yet. Wanted to be close to 10:1.
Thanks the help
Main and rods bearings don't really matter too much, ACL and Federal Mogul have always worked pretty well for me, Clevite too but they're usually more expensive. I would use an H bearing though, but I suppsoe a P bearing would work for only 600hp.
Leave the stock cam bearings in there. They don't need to be taken out unless they're badly damaged. Usually they show a little copper, but that seems to be how they come right from GM.
