Question engine block from Summit

I ordered a engine block from summit and it has I guess this engine rust protector all over it. I need help on how to get it off and out the cylinders.

Either have it hot tanked or get a case of brake cleaner. They cake those things with the rust prohibitor.

I agree with the other guys. Brake clean or hot tanked.

For a bit of a price comparision, my local shop charges $65 to hot tank and magnaflux a block. That's equal to about 10 cans of brake clean.

The major advantage to the hot tanking is, being fully submerged in the cleaner, it will get every last bit of gunk out of the water and oil jackets that spraying might not get to.

I hear the blocks from summit are priced right and come with all machine work done and ready to assemble. How does yours look?

x2

I seen its $299 for a bare 5.3 block. Not a bad start for a turbo build
