I fight with my GF over the heated dry all the time. Just bakes on whatever didn't come off. Bain of my kitchen existence but haven't figured out how to hack the thing to permanently disable that feature.

Just pop the front door open when she is gone one day and pull/tape off the wire that goes to that switch. Should be a piece of cake.

50/50 mix of used ATF and Acetone. Works better than Aero kroil for nuts/bolts as well. Also doesn't eat the alum like the suggested cleaners above and is dirt cheap. I brush it on thick for a couple days. Then pressure clean after wards with cheapo harbor freight electric pressure washer.

It's easy and cheap enough you can mix up a 5 gallon bucket of it and throw the whole head (or other parts) in to soak a few days. I've got tons of used ATF and 5 gallons of acetone is $58 at Walmart.

Even the lightest Roloc disc is going to leave high/low spots. Might not be a huge concern depending on the application, but it's not the best idea. Great video that explains this...

I use the 90* razor blade method. Then wet sand with a 10x12 1/2" alum block w/ to 400g. (block and heads). LS9 gaskets with ARP studs hold 25-30lbs of boost just fine.

Zero scrubbing on these heads and valve covers and they were filthy!

Unfortunately this dishwasher design was obviously bankrolled by the power company. Heated dry turns on automatically with any cycle selection and you have to specifically turn it off.

I use razor blades or rolocs. When I use rolocs I use extreme caution (as far as how I use them, you need light pressure and long sweeping equal movements, no spending time on small areas), I would not recommend using rolocs if you don't have a lot of experience with them and with an angle die grinder. I've been using rolocs for near 20 years on aluminum parts, it can be done, but you can easily go real bad. However, I've never had a problem from it either.
