Default Trex Questions

Does this cam fit a stock motor pvc? Does it have 2 be checked? How about springs. Would the patriot gold springs work?

Im thinkin $385 cam. $300 for springs, and $400 for some edelbrock headers and you got a lot of cheap hp.

We are installing a T-Rex this weekend, looking forward to hearing it.

If the heads have never been off the car, you should be fine by simply lining up dot-to-dot. Otherwise, it would be a good idea to double check, even if you still have stock heads. It certainly wouldn't hurt anything to check in any case.

I'm using the Patriot spings and haven't had any problems with them, but the Crane duals seem to be the more popular choice.

I did some research on the Trex. I saw a dyno comparison of the trex vs. tr230 cam. The trex only picked up 15 rwhp. Does that sound right?

My current cam is similar to the tr230 cam (230 578 114) specs. Porting the heads is probably a better route.

Depends on your goals. I went with the route you posted first. T-Rex, Patriot Golds, Edelbrock 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 stepped LT's with merge collectors, ARP rod bolts, all the little supporting mods, etc. Seems the best bang for the buck to me. As for heads, I think I'll wait for the AFR 225's. See what cams come out for them and how the T-Rex works with them. If I already had a 230 or so cam, might go with the AFR 205's and call it quits for awhile. AFR made 480 rwhp w/ the 205's and 224 cam.
