Default Looking for some H/C input.

I already have the TR224 and will be buying AS 5.3's late month. My question is should I have them ported to the tr224 and keep my cam or pick up a FM11 or FM13 and have the heads ported to flow at .600. My understanding of having the heads done to the TR224 is that the heads will peak at .575 so I couldn't go with the larger cam later. The third option is have the heads done to .600 and leave some on the table with the 224 and maybe upgrade later. This is driving me nuts! Your opinions needed. Car isn't driven much, but has to have really good driveablity. Thanks!

John

John

Dont get so crazy about that. Jays heads will make great power with either cam . Ofcourse they will make more power with the larger cam. I would just get the heads set for the larger cam. You will not really give up much at all as they will still flow awsome @ 575. Then you have all the room you need to grow .

FM13 sounds like a awsome cam.

enjoy the heads

I completely agree with offaxis. Leave your options open in case you decide to upgrade. Heck, if you have the money, it would be a little easier to go ahead and put a bigger cam in at the same time you do the heads. No doubt I'd put a Futral cam in my car if I were to get a set of ported heads right now.

I'm leaning towards the standard port and keeping my TR224 till I get bored withit again. If I jump on the big cam now I've got no where to go later! Thanks for the input fellas. Keep um coming!

I would get the best heads you can and find someone like Bauer Racing, or Flowtechinduction to build you a matched camshaft to your whole setup.
