Default Lm7 block prep for stroker kit

Hi,

So I picked up a $250 dollar 5.3 out of a Tahoe yesterday. Awesome older guy I heard it run for about 15 minutes. His son rolled it . Anyways he said if I can get it out it was mine. Accessory to manifold and ecu! I'm not 100 percent on what I want to do/ spend. But the engine had 97,000 miles it looks really good with valve covers off. I'm trying to figure out how prep this block for a stroker build and get a realistic budget. Not buying heads unless a deal comes up on CL. I'm looking at the xr265hr cam kit too. Anyways I'd love to hear you thoughts it's going into my 99 Sierra.

You just need the basic machining to use a stroker kit. You can bore these 5.3L blocks to 3.905" to make it 383ci or just hone it 3.80" for 363ci with the 4" crank, so you will need to make a decision on that first.

Do have a rotating assembly that is quality but a good bang for the buck.?
Also is there any structural reason why I wouldn't bore out to get a few extra cubes?

Running crazy boost is the only reason I wouldn't overbore. Otherwise, you are buying pistons for the stroker, might as well get the extra cubes from the overbore.
