If you still want to pass smog, the only cam ive come across that still passes the sniffer is the SLP cam.. i have one for sale if you're interested. If you want lumpy.. you wont pass smog. I just put in the GM Hot Cam.. nice idle.. but wont pass smog... its ok, ill just swap it out around smog time...

Its hard to say.. i didnt dyno before and after.. so all i have is what SLP says, and what my *** says. My *** says that i gained quite a bit... SLP's webpage says up to 25 ponies... Maybe someone else can jump in and say something.. but ive been told a good 15 rwhp at least... but i dunno.

Try either the Thunder 220 or 224 cams on a 114 lobe - either should pass as long as you have good tuning and cats.

I heard that many people passed with a hotcam?

Can't you just raise the idle a bit before you get it tested?

You may pass tail pipe with a hot cam, if you get the cats nice and hot before testing.. but any smog tech who wants to keep his job will fail it due to the noise coming from the exhaust. It would fail a visual because the engine shakes so much, and has such a lopey idle. Trust me, we do a lot of smogs at my work... and everyone is touchy on smog laws right now. No chance at passing if its modded unfortunately...

I agree that the 224 should pass, but you will need to tune the car.

I'd say go with the TR 220 cam on a 114, with tuning you should pass. in about a month I will be able to offer the bay area some tuning services. shoot me a PM if you are interested.

RTCamaroSS ,
what do you think about the MTI B1 cam?
I am just about to purchase one and it is very similar to the TR220 cam.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Contact LPE(Lingenfelter) I believe he has some decent cams that'll pass. LPE builds cars to have perfect drivablility and emissions compliant.
