Default L33 Questions

First post here and I hope this is the right area, but I have some questions on some L33 5.3s. I'm looking to build a low boost low budget engine. It'll be n/a for a while until I can get the rest of the car figured out. I haven't picked up a engine yet. Would it be more cost effective to find a low miles engine and pay more upfront or find a higher mile engine and get it for cheap. I'm probably going to do a cam swap and whatever else needs to be replaced. Just seeing if anyone else has some insight on this.
Thanks in advance

Mine is an 05. Had 125k miles.
I disassembled it, cleaned everything, gapped the top rings to .024 and boosted it.
Lots of 15psi passes. Looked great when I pulled it apart to change Pistons and rods with forged parts.

Mileage choice is up to you. I'd take it apart either way just so you don't have any surprises.

Thanks for the reply.
In my area I've been able to find mid range mile l33s with 130-160k for 1,800ish but then on ebay been able to find lower 100k mile engines for 2,350 and up. Just didn't know if it's worth the extra money for that little of mile difference plus the shipping hassles. But also on ebay there's 200k mile engines going for half of the others. I plan on taking it apart and making sure everything is good, probably refreshing the valve train and cam while I'm at it.

that is ridiculous money for an L33...a 100K mile engine isn't worth over $1,000. There is a guy selling a shortblock for $600 shipped in the classifieds....I may be spoiled because I bought a complete 200K L33 engine assembly with everything for $300

Yeah. I've had a few other people tell me that's high. EBay they're going for about the same price if not a little more. The cheapest I've been able.to find in my area is 127k 2007 l33 for $1.8k without a core.

I bought my L33 from a junkyard. I was told the mileage was under 100k, but it didn't matter much to me.
