Default found in oil
This was found on my drain plug magnet when I changed oil. 2002 Camaro ss. Original not modified and drives great. It is metal with pointed ends

Hard to tell in the picture, but that's part of the threads for the drain plug is it?

Definitely not threads to any part. It looks like it clips or snaps onto to something. Really hard to tell. I cant think of anything that looks like that inside an engine.

I think it is machined. The two ends appear like a simple arrow point shape. I can post a clearer pic in a couple of days if needed. I gave it to a friend who knows a mechanic. I am the original owner it is 35 anniv with all the options thru slp/gm. Great car. Really apprec the help
