Default 10k mile LQ4 knocking

Engine has been in the truck 10 months. Fresh .020 bore, new Pistons, rings and bearings. Crank was turned. I'll see what the machine shop that put it together says. The oil pump was a new standard model melling. Engine never went over 6100 with the hotcam that was brand new.

Frustrating since my wife's truck was stolen, borrowed money from my family to get a Tahoe Friday and this **** happens Monday.

Oil was a half quart low. Full synthetic that was changed a month ago. Probably would have been better off building it myself at this point.

No idea at this point. Trying to take off Friday so I can get a head start pulling it apart. Really didn't want to work on this truck for a long time like this.

**** man, that's luck like mine, if it wasn't bad we wouldn't have any!

Just get it out and try and tear it down orderly so you can hopefully get a good idea of what went.

I'd see what that shop says before I opened it up. With those miles I'd say likely a lifter.
