Thanks for the info, I've never heard of either of those, they sound like a more heavy duty version of SeaFoam? I've also read about adding some ATF/MMO/Diesel to each cylinder, turn over by hand every day for a few days and see what that gets, anyone have any experience with that?

The real problem is you need a engine oil that keeps the rings clean. I switched to diesel engine oil in my ls1 to help keep them cleaner.

What weight do you run?



After changing to Valvoline high mileage 10w30, some sea foam and marvel mystery oil, the oil is still clear after 150 miles. (50 miles with seafoam before the change made it noticeably darker) I have been watching my oil close over that mileage and if its burning any it seems to have slowed way down, I am doing the same trip it burnt a quart on in a few days, I'm anxious to see what the dipstick says when I get there.

500 miles since my oil change, if it's still burning oil it's slowed wayyyy down (before I'd be almost a quart low), Idk if it's the switch from synthetic or the heavier weight oil but it seems to be working! It's also stayed amazingly clear even with seafoam and MMO in there in theory cleaning stuff.
