Lq4 cam
Thank you
If you want a simple off the shelf cam that will work well for you, something like the 224/224 on a 114, something like a 110 or 111 ICL, should be fine. Probably would work decent with a set of turbos down the road, too.
Try stick to smaller cams with less aggressive lobe profiles, and you should be fine. That is probably more a matter of personal preference and opinion, but smaller cams are usually easier to drive and tune, and less aggressive lobe profiles are generally easier on the valvetrain and make for a more stable powerband.
There are literally dozens of factors when choosing the right cam for a set up, everything from intake and exhaust to suspension and intentions and gearing, it all comes into play and the cam is responsible for making it all play nice together. That is why it is generally best to call one of the experts and tell them exactly what you have and exactly what you intend to do with it, and that way they can tell you exactly what you need.
Do yourself a favor and call Martin Smallwood, or any of the other custom cam vendors on this site. Avoid Comp Cams, once again, personal preference and opinion, but their **** sucks, go with a Martin spec'ed cam on a Cam Motion core.
