Just to note, if its a pre-production 2004 its not going to have the updated 2nt design rods nor the updated head bolts from 2 shorts to all long, though it will have the updated pistons with the duroshield side skirts and but retains the old style press fit wrist pins..
My 2004 has the first design rods and 2 short head bolts also the OS is a pre-production version which only allows for 2bar enhancements, so iv been told from hp tuners that is why it only allows for 2bar..
But if you have access to the VCM you can find out the OS version and you can use that to find out if its a pre-production version or not by someone at hp tuners.. i dont know another way how, but im sure there are other ways, other then just taking the oil pan off and have a look at the rods...
Also i do not think the LQ9 came in HD trucks.. and the C.R of the LQ4 is 9.4to1 depending on the head gasket used ..

Edit: here i found this for ya from preformancetrucks.n so if you have access to the VIN look at the 8th digit which is a U for LQ4 or a N for LQ9...:End Edit
