Default new engine

Well got my 02 Z back from the dealer thur. With a brand new ls6 corvette engine in it. under my warranty. The only engine they had to replace mine with. The engine was built march 12, 2004. It seems pretty torqy. but don't know yet still breaking it in. Can't wait to step on it.

Look at the head and see what casting is on it. passenger side near the front right below the valve cover. ALOT of people are mixing up the replacement LS1 motor for an LS6. GM now tells you to swap all the parts from the replacement engine for a camaro or firebird i.e. oil pan, valley cover, and valve covers. Check the casting numbers on the head to see what you really have. ASK me how I know this, i have a brand new corvette oil pan, harmonic balancer, and LS6 valley cover on my garage floor from a LS1 replacement engine. the BLOCK however is LS6. Was on the one we did and i figure most probably are due to having the LS6 valley cover.
