New motor set up is 11.5:1 compression. Good heads/ big cam and 91 pump gas. Have been reading and looking up member's turbo builds. Does a high compression stroker have any benifit to running meth? It would help with detonation correct? Ive never had any first hand experience, but it popped up in my head
Meth or E85 would almost be a necessity with 11.5:1 and boost. I run the same compression as you, and if I ever went that route I'd absolutely do it.
Also, in some cases like mine, it actually helped n/a as well, because it allowed a lot more timing without detonation, and the car responded well to that

If your car actually wants more timing, then meth will allow you to advance it and make a little more power. You first have to determine if your car will make more power with extra timing

i do too! Where in AZ? I'm in Mesa. I wish we had 93 *** swell. I've considered meth also. Blown diff changed priority
I live in phx! I usually go out to the tempe meets. Btw if anyone out here asks about my car, it is a cam only car lol.
I am very good friends with mario, justin, brian and joe from cpr. Are you familiar with cordes racing?

If you are looking to get the most out of the setup its not a bad idea. Running methanol would allow the tuner to get more aggressive with the timing in turn hopefully making a nice increase in power. Just keep in mind though its another item on the car you will need to maintain. If the car is tuned using it you will need to make sure the system doesn't run out and that it is always operating properly to ensure you don't end up having an issue with the motor under wide open throttle conditions.
No but I've seen them pop up on searches, etc
