Default Selecting cam for 2007 SS TB

Just recently developed an rod knock in my SSTB so was going to pull it apart and rebuild it but wanted a more aggressive idle but didn't want to just throw in any big cam and tank gas mileage any worse than it already is.

Appears the LS6 cam swap is pretty common, saw that another member "Patrick G" had installed a Comp cams XE-R loved cam with the specs of 234/238 .539/.605 114LSA(+2) but eventually went with a 224/228 .637/.639 110LSA (+0) cam but he also has an Ls1 and aftermarket AFR heads was wondering how that cam would do in my LS2 with stock heads and see what kind of cans you guys are running in your SSTBs

Any plans for an aftermarket torque converter? I would recommend something like our Z+221 Camshaft. This will offer a nice improvement in power and a very broad powerband. It will work with your factory torque converter as well. Specs are 221/226,.565/.560,114LSA. Let us know if we can help with anything.

Do you mean a TrailBlazer SS (aka TBSS)? If so there are lots of good recommendations on sites more dedicated to the platform.

I was hoping to get away with the stock converter at least til it's time to rebuild the tranny(hopefully no time soon) what kind of idle does that cam produce?

The camshaft mentioned above will work with the stock torque converter and produce a mild idle. It will definitely be noticeable but nothing radical.

LOL, nobody buys a TBSS and worries about MPG - You want Smiles Per Gallon, my friend.
Truthfully TBSSes are never discussed on this forum. Go here and do a search:

In reality I wouldn't expect mileage to change much with a proper tune if your driving style stays the same.
