4.8 to 383 stroker build?
Looking for some advice since I'm new to engine building(very new).
Picked up a 2005 gen iii 4.8 complete changeover for $250. Had a machine shop in SF clean the block, deck, cam bearings, and bore it to 3.903
Here's my plan:
4.8/5.3 block
Bored to 3.903
TSP LS1/LS6 383 rotating assembly kit
4" tsp forged crank
-8cc Wiseco forged pistons
Tsp 6.125 rods Arp 2000 bolts
Clevite bearings
706 heads with pac1218 springs
Ls9 head gaskets
Are ARP head bolts necessary?
Ls2 timing chain
Ls7 lifters
Hardened rods
Still haven't learned enough to pick a cam.
Planning a Jakes 4l80e
My goal is to be around 400 wheel for the street. Is this achievable? What upgrades should I be investing in to get there. Of course I've read just buy a 6.0, but at this point that's not happening. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks fellas
