Clarification on swapping to front mounted cam sensor
I came across a great deal on a 2 pc Edelbrock PN-4255 which obviously has the front mounted cam sensor and my motor is a Early gen 3 LM7 with the rear mounted sensor. My question is what do I have to change to run the Front mounted cam sensor? I don't want to change the whole setup just ultimately relocate the sensor to the LS2 style front timing cover mounted style.
Current Setup
Gen 3 LM7 5.3
24x Crank
3 Bolt LJMS Cam
Stock cam gear
Great thank you. Just to clarify I need the GM #12576407 cam gear from a 05-06 GTO/05 Corvette only and could you explain who makes that wiring extension and What that outer section is? I'm going to be ordering a stand alone 24x 5.3 harness soon to run my oem PCM in my swapped car so could I just have them build th harness for a ls2 cam sensor instead of the rear mounted LS1 sensor in guessing. TY

tell them to extend the cam sensor wires so they will reach from back of engine (stock) to front of engine.
On cam sensor, you have 3 wires in line. Swap 1 and 3 over.
Car will run without switching the cam sensor wires over but it will have a hard start and pop a little. Won't hurt anything, but you will know something is not right.
