Default Should I upgrade from torquer v2?

So I bought a lot of my new parts to put on my wife's Automatic 01 Camaro. First off the car made 390whp with Torquer v2, full exhaust budget circle d converter. The converter was to tight so I put 3:73 gears in which didn't help much. She wants the car to run good at drag strip. With current setup it went 12.47@112. Converter being so tight was dropping 2k rpm between shifts. So decided to Make some purchases. First off tubular everything. Rear control arms, front upper and lowers, k member, qa1 shocks, short torque arm. So weight will drop some and we can adjust. Next I got
4l80e with 3800 ptc converter
GMPP cnc 243 heads
Fast 102 intake with FTP lid, 100mm ls7 maf
42lb ls3 injectors
Car already has 1 7/8 headers with true dual 3" exhaust

So should I change cam while I have motor out? We are happy with cam and power but if there's something out there that will pick up another 30whp and not lose much drivability I'd like possibly try it.

Keep the current cam. That size cam is what I consider ideal for a track oriented car that will still be 100% streetable without headaches.

The new heads will wake it up big time and tame the cam a little more.

That setup should run 11.70s or better in good air pretty easy. Keep dropping weight and it will only go deeper.

Excellent combo you're building IMO.

I agree with the others. Seems like a pretty ideal cam for how the car is used.

Yeah that combo should work well. To give you an idea my car went 11.0s with a very similar combo and some weight cut. Here is a thread you can read to give you some ideas on how to make the combo work well. https://ls1tech.com/forums/multimedi...pics-vids.html
