Default Oil Level sensor delete - any performance issues?

I am giving serious consideration to deleting this sensor so that I can plug the gap between the oil pan baffle and the side of the oil pan in my F-Bosy.

I am convinced that under high G, high rpm, long left hand corners, the oil is riding up the side of the block, uncovering the pick up tube and cavitating the oil pump.

I currently run 7 qts of oil to mitigate problems, but it's a band-aid fix.

I want to remove the oil level sensor altogether, remove the "hump" out of the baffle and weld in a contoured piece of metal onto the baffle.

If I do this, is the oil level sensor just an idiot light or is it sending performance inhibiting data to the ECM? Can the idiot light be LS1edit-ed out?

and the Canton oil pan is NOT an option because of the need to remote locate the oil filter.

Thanks ....

Mines been disconnected for about a year. Not a single prob. Just strip the ends of the wires, and tie them together so you don't have to stare at a low oil light.

On my 98, the idiot light doesn't even come on with or without a sensor plugged in.
