Replacing ls1 stock valve springs
Hello fellas. Went to get a dyno tune today and found out I had valve float at 5k. The car has 126k miles. I'm looking to replace the stock valve springs and hardware. Still have a stock cam and won't be replacing till I do heads with the cam. So I'm looking for something stock or a bit better for now. From what I've searched, the LS6 kit looks pretty good but doesent come with hardware. Anybody know who offers it complete with seals, retainers, etc? Any other complete kit worth nothing for a good price??
I would just order the GM LS6 springs and new GM seals. Not sure why you need new retainers unless there is damage. I have had some issues with non-OEM seals in the past so I am a little gun shy on aftermarket seals.
I second vettenuts.
Get the LS6 springs for about $50 and some new GM seals. You need to find out which style seals your engine has there are 2 different styles. One is like a top hat 1 piece seat/seal and the other has a separate spring seat and a cap seal.

I just figured since I'm replacing the springs, replace all hardware. But you guys make sense. I'll just order the LS6 kit with seals. It's 2000 camaro SS. Anybody know what seals I need?

Those are the later design valve seals with the integral valve spring seat. They will work, however if you have the earlier design seals on the car now there is a separate seat that will need to be removed prior to installing the new design. I prefer the later design because the valve springs ensure that seals will never come off of the valve guide.
