Default Ls1 lifter noise.

Hey all, I recently picked up a basket case of a car, a 2001 Camaro SS that seems to have some lifter noise. I intend to replace the exhaust manifold gaskets as the car has longtubes on it, and I can't really determine where the noise is.

On the extremely high chance that it is not an exhaust leak I'll be pulling the cylinder heads and replacing all lifters with ls7 and new ls2 trays. Probably put milled 243s on it as well.

If the lifters are bad its probably chewed the camshaft up as well, although no metal in oil when I changed it, I've been looking at the GMPP ASA camshaft. I've read several threads pertaining to this and the vast majority say there are better cams for the money and effort spent, but the car will be a driver. It will see way more street than track runs. I'd be perfectly content with high 300 low 400s power wise. A cam that's easy on valvesprings is a major plus to me. Car already has a th400 and pct 3600 in it.

I know this is a bunch of ramble BS but hoping to get some feedback on my current plan of attack. Thanks a ton.
