Who should i send my heads to for porting. Tps or ai? Tsp is $750 and ai is $1100. Little tight on money so I'm leaning towards tsp. Any thoughts...

Tea are like $1500 even with sending in my heads. Like i said, money is tight. And thompson ms webpage didn't have an option for stg 2 wih 2.02 valves like tsp. Their stg 2 is $950 if i send them my heads. I think that is the best bang for the buck

FU_I_AM_UltraZ,
Our website is being rebuilt at the moment from the name change. We use to be Frankenstein Racing Heads. $1250 + shipping would have your set CNC ported, CNC valve jobbed, Hand blended, Logo'd, surfaced and assembled. New springs with titanium retainers as well.

Rise of the Phoenix is correct. We have a variety of aftermarket heads from Trickflow to Brodix to ALL-PRO and so on in stock as well.
But you mentioned you're looking to stay budget friendly. With that being said, a CNC set of 243/799s is definitely a killer setup on a budget.

There's no need for aftermarket casting heads on a 347. There just isn't enough power difference on the smaller bore motors to justify the cost delta (if you already have 243s and are looking at buying new). I run TEA, and it'd be hard pressed for me to pick up power with any other head. Period, even with the FAST 102 or an MSD atomic intake. The TSP/PRC heads are good and probably the best budget option outside of AI. TEA also has stage 1 heads which are closer in price to the AIs. So that's also an option. Whatever head/intake you run, 510rwhp is about the most you'll make on a 347 with everything else in place. And guess what? The TEA heads have done that many times.
In the end, I would recommend aftermarket as-cast options from PRC or TFS if you don't already have 243 cores as their pricing is very competitive ~1500-1800 range. And they are going to make very good power. Of course, used aftermarket heads from TFS, AFR, MMS, or PRC will be closer to your budget and are fine at that price point.
The only other reason to run such a head would be if you're going to push 20+psi in a boosted setup and don't want the head to lift. And then spending every last dime on heads there makes even less sense. Get as-cast TFS heads for the thicker deck and turn the boost up.

I emailed AI yesterday and asked them to weld up my TEA stage 1 243's for maximum compression on my little 346 and they told me it's really not worth it by any means. So I'm kinda inclined to go with jake on this one too. I'd go with Frankenstein for that kind of money, reminds me of when Brian Tooley used to run TEA and hand blended all his ports and what not back in the day.
I pretty much agreed with Jake on this one.
I've been very happy with quality of both sets of TEA's. The old 2002 era Stage. 2 5.3 TEA's on my TA have been trouble free since 2002 for over 123,000 + miles. The TEA Stage 2.5 LS6's have proven to be capable of 500+ rwhp many times.
This is a fun read on LS cylinder heads...

I had TSP-PRC do a Stage 1 Port job, mill them to 63cc Chambers as well as install my new PAC 1218s to the correct height with my 243's. I was very happy with the porting and paid just under $900 after shipping.
I decided against the larger valves with the Stage 2.5 porting, one reason is the stock valves (2.00" and 1.55") will flow more than enough with my current setup. Second and main reason is I am using the LS6 Hollowstem and Sodium filled valves.

Do the one that makes YOU happy, after doing proper research and looking at others combos. If you are a few hundred short, just wait a bit. You'll be happier in the end.
