Default Ls engine revving?

So I have a ly6 7875 turbo Camaro running on e85. Right now the car is in pieces for paint so it can't be driven but I like to go out and start the car once or twice a week to keep the e85 moving and injectors clean. I start the car and let it idle for 10-15 minutes to let it get to operating tempurature and oil nice and hot. Then I will blip the throttle body a couple times, literally just blip to about 50% open them let it idle for another 10 minutes and shut it down. It's revs up quickly to 5-5600rpm with that quick blip. I've never had an issue doing this on an ls motor.
So today my neighbor walks over and basically says I'm an idiot and you should never rev an unloaded engine (which I've heard many many times but most from old school guys that think fuel injection stupid). I'm not a noob I know what I'm doing, I built this car from the ground up as a roller and I would consider myself very good with ls motors and cars in general.
So my question is how do you guys feel about revving an engine. I see no issue at all but maybe I'm just plain wrong. Set me straight guys!

I don't see an issue with revving, as long as your not winging it to like 6k. as long as your motors warmed up, your probably fine, just don't rev it too hard

I really figured I would get a little more out of this question. Kind of old school vs. new

Some conditions are different while free revving. I would think much less cylinder pressure while free revving vs. operation under load at a given rpm, and potentially much higher piston, conrod, and valvetrain acceleration/decel.

So i guess there is the potential for more stress on parts as well as lousy ring seating. But don't be a dummy and mash the throttle, blipping it at the limiter. A nice gradual increase to a moderate rpm should harm nothing, i would think.
