Help please! Race only build I'm building my first LS for my 71 Vega tube chassis bracket car. I've searched and searched but haven't found many builds like what I'm considering (probably just looking in the wrong place). Please give me you thoughts on my proposed build. I'm getting ready to purchase parts and start on machine work and don't want to end up with a screwed up combination. Here's what I'm considering:
LQ4 bored .030
Wiseco K447X3 +12cc dome pistons
Scat 6.125 I-beam rods
Stock crank
371 heads milled 30 thousandths (or stock 243)
Custom Spec Cam from Brian Tooley, Pat G, etc.
750 Quickfuel alcohol carb
Vic Jr Intake
The car will weigh about 2300 lbs with me it, have a powerglide with at least a 4500 stall.
I'm looking for at least 450hp, more would be even better. Am I on the right track?
