Default King XP main bearing clearances

I'm putting together a 5.3 and have a clearance question, my mains have a clearance ranging from .0015 to .0020 from what I've been reading this is too tight for an iron block but I've been told that the coating on these bearings is sacrificial and will wear off during break in giving me an extra .0007 clearance. The crank spins fine by hand and doesn't bind any where.Should I run my bearings how they are and count on the break in or should I buy some .001 under bearings to get them loose enough?

That's fine for a stock or mild performance applications.

Ok I'm looking for around 800 crank so I'm guessing it's too tight for that right?

Thanks

Yeah, I would probably mix the STD and X bearing shells. You'll probably end up with about .0005" more clearance, but as you already know, if something happens, the coating can be wiped and save the crank and bearing from damage.
