Cam in a 5.3 iron block
Looking for some advice.
Putting a 5.3 iron block, auto trans, in a 69 Camaro.
Wanting some advice for cam, springs, lifters, and any other components needed for a cam upgrade. Going to put and LS intake on it as well.
Here is some more information,
I am not going to drag race, not road race. I want to cruise and play on curvy country roads. Maybe a little quick takeoffs red light to red light. Old school. Maybe a little tire smoke. lol. Got to have fun.
Please give cam name with specs, or full kit.
Thanks in advance. Love this forum.

These 2 should be right up your alley. If using the stock torque converter and mild gears the first will be the better option IMO.

For springs: http://store.cammotion.com/double-sp...teel-retainers
And they also have pushrods too, you should need some 7.4-7.425" ones but it never hurts to measure.
To change lifters you have to pull the heads. If your engine is low mileage it's not uncommon to keep the stock ones but if you change them they are available from CM as well as necessary gaskets and what not. Give them a call and they can put you together a perfect package.
