Default Block Decking

So I got my block back Saturday, and they had to deck it .013 off the deck . So is that a big amount . I know what .013 is , but have never machined a block and never assemble one . . I had already got the .051 LSA head gasket so I might have to buy a thicker .

Not just what pistons, (what dome volume)

What fuel

What Power adder

What deck height

what heads (chamber cc's)

What rod length

What stroke

AND what cam (where does the intake close?)

What axle ratio

What first gear ratio

What rear tire size

What car weight

.015" is a little more than usual. I've usually had to cut less than .010" to square and true the deck. You're going to want to measure how far the piston protrudes above the deck before deciding if you need a thicker gasket.
