Rust on Intake Valves

Rust on Intake Valves Hi All, I bought a 2003 LS1 from a Chevy Tahoe with 110K miles on it. Doing a partial teardown from some inspections and found what I think is some pretty bad rust on some of the intake valves. Others look clean. I've attached photos of the worst looking one and the best one. The exhaust valves do not have any rust on them.
How bad is this and what should I do next? I'm thinking pull the heads and look in the cylinders. What can cause this type of rust and why does it only appear on some cylinders?

What is the story of the engine? Did you pull it? Was it from a wrecked Tahoe?
I've seen engines ruined because the hood was left off/open and rain water seeped into the intake ports. If your lucky the water didn't make it past the valves.

I bought it from a guy who seemed pretty honest. He gave me a photo of the vehicle title and told me the VIN would match whats in the computer once I got to powering it up. He said he pulled it from a wrecked Tahoe that he says was running about 6 months ago.
