cam suggestions

cam suggestions I've been debating and researching putting a cam in my 2000 Trans Am. My car is a weekend cruiser, not a drag car, so my intentions are to find a cam with a nice rumble at idle, but does not have to squeeze horsepower out of my motor. Currently I have full exhaust and do not have any future plans for heads or intake. The goal of this cam is just for the sound and learning process of never having installed a cam before. Can anyone recommend a decent sounding cam that's doesn't necessarily have to be top of the line? So far I'm eyeballing the camshaft packages on Texas-Speed, but do not necessarily know which duration to go for. Any brand is welcome. Like I said, I do not intend to race it and welcome suggestions for budget minded street set ups. Thank you for the help.
We can assist with a camshaft and install kit for your goals! Our VRX series offers many different camshaft profiles for the cathedral port engines that we have been running in LS1's for many years with excellent results. For a daily driver that offers a great sound but keeps excellent driveability, our VRX4 is a crowd favorite. This is a 228/230 .588"/.592" 112+4 and is cut on a Cam Motion core. We do offer camshafts both larger and smaller depending on your preferences as well. See below for some idle clips on this camshaft for reference.
For the kit itself, we offer a "budget" cam kit that comes with your basic cam, springs, and pushrods as well as our Cam Kit Plus that offers many other items for a complete DIY install. Items in the Cam Kit Plus include a Melling 10296 oil pump, C5R timing chain, ARP camshaft bolts, CompCams trunion upgrade kit, GM crank bolt, GM waterpump gaskets, and GM front cover gasket/front cover seal.
