Default Need help

I have a 6.0 out of a 02 2500 hd that I am doing a ls swap with and I took the heads off tonight and it had coolant in the center head bolts on the bottom of the heads and look as if their was coolant sitting in cylinder 6 and 5 had rust in those two cylinders needing a little advice

The head bolt holes are blind so that coolant might have come from the heads when they were removed. Shoot a photo of the rust in the cylinders. You may be able to clean them up if they are not too bad. Don't rotate the motor as you could damage the rings.

The only thing with the coolant is that I had it drained from the block enough that when I took the head off it didn't leak out I thought it was odd that it was in the bolt holes as soon as I broke them loose

if you plan on re using the heads i would have them pressure checked. the rust will likely hone out depending on how long its been sitting there of course. new head gaskets and bolts and you'll likely be good as new.

I will use the heads I will have them checked out and I am going to start honing the block this weekend and get a camera to look down into the head bolt holes to make sure that they haven't broke through the water jacket thanks for the advice
