Heads gaskets to use with 5.3 heads..

Heads gaskets to use with 5.3 heads.. The title says it all. Brent at TEA told me to use the old graphite style head gaskets, are these just our stock gaskets? Would it matter if I use 2002 gaskets rather than 2000?

Re: Heads gaskets to use with 5.3 heads.. Go with the graphite style. I have a 2002 block and heads, but used the gasket for 97-01 blocks. It's the graphite one. Compressed thickness is around .053" for the graphite, and .060" for the 2002 mls style. It will also seal better than the mls style.
