Default How to go from a front mounted cam sensor to rear.

I'm dropping a gen 3 5.3 in my TBSS. I would like to avoid swapping cam and front cover from the ls2 I'm pulling out. I have read plenty of articles detailing how to go from rear to front sensor, just none the other way around. From what it sounds like I should be able to just swap the two outer wires and run the rear sensor, no problem. It's a 2006 so both engines are 24 tooth crank and 1x cam gear. Has anyone done this without issues?
