Default Do I need to drill a hole im throttle body?

Just did a H/C package on my 98 SS with a six speed. I only had it running for 15-20 mins. But it wouldn't idle at all in neutral. Kept dropping down to 4-500 then back up to 1500. The cam is a FM10. 228/228 112+4. And the heads a PP stage 2. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

yes drill out the hole as it will help with the idle issues. start with a drill bit just slightly larger than the hole and work up from there. you may have to go up to IIRC a 3/8th bit. I am not at the shop or I could give more detail on the sizes.
you need tuning and to bump the idle up to about 900rpms

If you don't plan on having it tuned then drill it.If you have an experienced tuner setting it up for you, talk to them first.I personally don't like the TB drilled at all since it can be tuned to idle very easilly.

Yeah I definitely plan on getting it tuned. But was hoping to be able to drive it, break it in a little before tuning it. I really don't want to drill the TB, that was just my first thought. Could I use the idle adjustment screw to get a little extra air in it until it idles? Or do you think the computer will adjust more as I drive it? Thanks.

The learning that will occur will be in the long term fuel trim table (LTFT) of the PCM and it will help you idle quality some. I would use the idle set screw to ease the idle speed up some. Then try to get it tuned as soon as you can.

drilling the TB blade is only a short term answer as it really needs to be tuned. if you need to get around before you do the tuning then the drill mod is an answer, not a good solution but better than nothing. though if you can get it tuned then go that way.
