Default Recommended headgaskets and timing chain part #s

1999 SS. Want to be able to finish up my cam swap this weekend
I work at the GM dealer would like to order some head gaskets and a charming chain kit to have for the weekend what part numbers do I need
Gaskets on in are not MLS. .should I just order stock replacement for my Vin number or is there another gasket that's recommended

Also what should my timing chain and gears be replaced with Stock replacement or ls6 stuff ?? I thought I read some where .
Partner great so I can get that ordered Thursday to have for Friday
Thanks in advance

I like the rollermaster double roller timing chain set (11-CS1136). If you go that route, I'd drop the oil pan and changed the oil pump with a Melling while your there. You'll most likely have to clearance the timing chain cover a little with a double roller.

Default 1041 + IwIs

Hi Im, I too like the 1041"s with a GAIN in C.R. of .010" .051" vs 041".

Use Copper Kote.

I like the IwIs LS-7 GM OEM Chain. (single IS stronger)

Op use the "ls2 chain" 12646386 and it depends on your head casting as to whether you can use that 1041 or not. If they are 853 then they likely have a notch in the deck surface and gm doesnt carry those gaskets anymore. The felpro doesnt have the notch for the heads either. the 1041 will lose cr also and make ptv worse as well.
We have the mls gasket youd need if 853 heads. if 241 heads (magically as they werent used til later 00) then you can use gmpn 12498544.

Our 853 mls head gaskets are here

The good news is that chain you orderd IS the ls2 chain. its all gm has now for ls engins. been that way for a while.
The bad news...even though you get a gm discount we could have still gotten you the complete timing set cheaper.

As far as head gaskets etc go, email me and we can work something out. ill be up a while.

Those 5.3 heads would be 799s. they are a good head. but that 1041 gasket has a HUGE bore amd you are losing alot of gasket surface area and creating more area between the head and block for compression etc to go. not a good idea.
