5.3 Budget Build
Hi guys, working on building up a 5.3 and an LSA supercharger and working on the internals. I've done a lot of searching and it seems to be the way to go but wanted to confirm.
-5.3 with 4.8 pistons to bump the compression
-243 heads
-ls9 cam to keep it on a budget
It seems to be a decent recipe but what are all your thoughts?

The compression should work IF you watch the boost. Looks good otherwise...

Ls9 cam is cheap...but it wont work in gen3 without spending about $150+ more anyway. so in the end its not cheap.
Jegs cams....yeah....
Id go with a smallish cam even with lsa. no need for such a wide lsa either. Hell even our hot cam would work well and doesnt need ls2 front cover etc etc. Cam and springs are $515 and just like ls9 cam it uses stock prs.

what spring- whats the pressure on 1218's compared to stock, compared to the next thing, isn't there a jpg yet? If not lets make one
it should show stock spring closed and open or whatever, then compare the aftermarkets and breakpoints for lifter upgrades (using solid roller ramp for example)
all the research I have done and still have not collected much data for gen3 oem-lifter compatible performance cams
whereas this is the ideal subject when boosting oem longblock 5.3 engines

The issue with comparing any spring to the stock spring is the as published pressures for yellow vs blue ls6 springs is the "same" but they are different. I do not have that info BUT i will compile a list of the commonly used springs. Itll take about a week.
Per gm specs the ls6s are 90lb at 1.8 and 295 at 1.250 max lift .550 (adv)
1218 are 130 @1.8 and 318 @1.2 max lift .600 (adv)
1219x are 145 @1.8 and 358@1.175 max lift .625 (adv)
The X series rate changes a little vs the reg series.
