They should have a hex head at the base of the stud.

If not, you can pick up a couple nuts from the hardware store, thread both of them on the stud and then tighten them against each other. It should be tight enough to jam them together so when you turn the bottom nut, the stud turns.

Hi Max, I have a set of sockets, like a Spark Plug Socket, that "grips" the stud at the base.
I bought this set from a Snap On tool dealer.
The use of this socket will save MUCH time.
