Default Help on valve spring install.

I have the ls1 valve spring removal tool and wondering how to remove these studs that where on the car, so I can utilize the tool.

They should have a hex head at the base of the stud.

If not, you can pick up a couple nuts from the hardware store, thread both of them on the stud and then tighten them against each other. It should be tight enough to jam them together so when you turn the bottom nut, the stud turns.

Default Stud Sockets

Hi Max, I have a set of sockets, like a Spark Plug Socket, that "grips" the stud at the base.
I bought this set from a Snap On tool dealer.

The use of this socket will save MUCH time.
