Default Is this to much??? (cam)

I have a 2001 C5 with a 6 spd. My mods are BlackWing, FLPs, Corsa Pace Car cat-backs. I wanted to the use the TR224/224/.114lsa cam with my factory heads. I also wanted to try to do it with OUT computer tuning??? Will it idle??

How much cam is too much is a subjective, personal thing, which is probably why you haven't got any answers. The TR224 is a popular cam that a lot of people use, and I like it as well. But it is a far cry from stock and will not idle smooth at all. Many people actually want a lopey idle though. I think computer tuning with this cam is a must. You will need to speed up the idle and change some other things as well to make it run right.

Hmm..

I really wanted to try to squeeze that cam in but it does not look good from what I am hearing about ability to idle with no computer tuning...

If you have a 6 speed your idle won't be bad. I'd say get a bigger cam with a 6 speed if you dont mind a lope.

Here's a list that would come to mind
C2
228/224 .588/.581 111lsa
TSP 228
Raging 230 cam.

Derty had an "un-tuned" XE-R 224 sound clip around here somewhere

I guess these things are HIGHLY subjective. I don't mind the rumble and loping, but if it will not idle I can't go there. Also I wanted to at least try to get by with NO PCM tuning initialy..
