Default 2nd design cast iron blocks.

I don't know if this is a repost, if it is I didn't see the first post.
I was intalling my heads today on my new 6.0 block and found that the center and bottom bolts are now the same as the sides, short bolts only. The bolt threads start at the deck.
I was just going to give ya'll a heads up. I am going to give ARP a call tomorrow and order new short bolts. The 5.3 and 4.8 blocks are the same.

The '04 and newer blocks have the shorter style bolts for all of the 16 M11x2.0 bolts.

ARP has a new part number for these kits (234-4317 for the studs, I think) but they are as yet unavailable. I do not know if they are putting anything together for the bolt kits yet but will check. If you call them directly you should be able to get them since they are the same as the ones already manufactured. ARP does sell bolts in singles.

Yes, Jason99T/A or another tech can give you the exact differences.

Yes, the cam bearings are different in the '04 and newer blocks. #3 is the only bearing that remains the same. The old #1/#5 are now the current #2/#4 bearings, while #1/#5 have larger ODs and require the newer bearing. GM is currently the only place to get them. Federal Mogul is working on a set last I heard.

I think Dura-bond makes the new camshaft bearings. I've installed a few sets in the new blocks.

Dura-bond does have the new bearings, we have them in stock. As for ARP I talked to them the other day. They told me that they were working on a bolt kit, and were out of the stud kit.
