Default Ls7 lifter?

Would ls7 lifters be good enough for 500hp and a 600 lift or would there be vavle float and would they hold up?

Just use the best single roller chain you can get. WS6store can set you straight on that. They are a vendor/sponsor here and will treat you right!

We have billet timing sets for $89, ls7 lifters for $95, and fast 42lb injectors for $305.
That would round out your setup and drop right in.

I'm about to buy some stage 2.5 prc cylinder heads and run a mid sized cam. They have an option of 58cc to 64cc what is the most I can shave before running into piston and vavle clearance issues?? No boost

I had my Prc's milled .030" and run a .040" head gasket with a 239/244 and had about .040" ptv clearance on the intake and .060" on the exhaust.

I'm not really sure on what cam I'm going to run probably gonna have one specd but I have been lookin at a Saturday night special cam or a ls6 but probably no more then a 600 lift and I want more torque so that means I would want more compression and I just don't know what to go with to prc head offers 58cc to 64cc but I don't want to much compression I want it to be strong and efficient as possible

If you have the higher octane fuel to support it, go with the smaller chambers. You can have an efficient, strong, and high compression engine with no drawbacks. Also, if you are going to get a cam, get a man's cam like 98CayenneT/A, not a silly LS6, especially if you are shooting for 500hp NA. You will kick yourself later.

When I was originally going the route of a Texas speed build I was looking at their CNC 243 heads milled about .020" (roughly 2cc) so 62cc with a 226/228 .598”/.598” 112 LSA +4 advance custom grind give me around I want to say 11:1 compression with good PTV. In my talks with Pat G he suggests not really going above 11:5 ish on pump gas (93 Oct). I would call Texas speed and have them recommend a Cam with the heads the have great experience and are nice people. Or perhaps reach out to any of the other sponsors. There is lots of great aftermarket upgrades for the LS platform now days. Reaching 500 rwhp will be a serious build as mentioned above. I believe Dark V8ter on this site has a daily driving 500 rwhp build. A lot goes into the little things to get that high. Reaching 450 is very attainable now a days! Good Luck!!

On the lifter note, I went with Johnson 2110 lifters.... figured the extra 200 or more dollars was worth it to me. I don't have any experience with the LS7 lifter. Although reading the threads made me come to my decision of using the 2110. I think the Morel drop in lifters are also quite good for the price.

Been running LS7 lifters on a .643 lift cam for 6 years and no problems at all. There are better ones out there for sure but LS7s have been fine.
