Gen 3 motor gen 4 pistons no rebalance whos done it ?
Hey guys i'd like to hear from those who have installed gen 4 rods / pistons in a sbe gen 3 motor without rebalancing. I've read much debate on this, so i want to hear from those that did it (not speculation / opinions as the net is full of those )and how long your engine lasted or problems / regrets you had. Turbo engines are a plus I'll be running a 7875. Thx i'll be checking back frequently

lance i gotta ask, is your caps lock button damaged? it seems to toggle on and off and random times.
to OP:
most of the weight difference is in the piston and pin between gen 3 & 4. gen 4 piston and pin was ~6 grams heavier each in the "iron L33" i put together.
the piston, pin and small end of the rod reciprocating weight is only counted at half it's actual weight towards the bobweight. so 1/2 reciprocating weight + rotating weight = bobweight.
if it were a road race or oval track car, yeah overbalance that thing.
if it's just a fun drag strip blaster on the cheap...let 'er rip 'tater chip
