Flat tops with big cam - when do I need relief? Just ordered a WS6store high lift ASA cam for my L33 and I didn't even think this might be a problem until just now - 2" valves with flat tops and .600" lift cam. Did I screw up? At what point is there gonna be interference? Crap.
Not so much the lift but the duration of the intake lobe and where it sits on the blank
If heads aren’t milled and still using GM head gaskets you can usually get up well into the 230s @ .050”

I have just finished an lq4 build for my nephew, using the WS6Store high lift camshaft, and flat top pistons. I had to cut .040” exhaust reliefs to get adequate clearance Clarence.
Bottom line is you MUST check ptv. Always check PTV when in doubt. And when NOT in doubt, check it anyway.
