Default LS1 pistons for OEM floating rods

I have a couple hurt L33's I picked up with rusty cyls so require boring. The blocks/rods/cranks/heads are fine though so I am looking to bore out to 3.898"-3.90x" and build for mild cam NA use. I have found very decently priced LS1 press fit pistons ( set of 8 for just over hundred bucks ) but at the stock LS1 bore size for floating pin type the only ones I could find are almost a hundred each which is way outta range for such a build. Keeping budget focus in mind if anyone can suggest a source for the best pistons to use for this that would be very helpful. If I have to go for press fit rods to stay budget thats an option im fine with too.

Getting closer, new set just over $4 bills. Wiseco Pro Tru Street pistons Part number PTS523A903 that list to work with press or floating. Anyone know if these will fit the genIV rods?

Open to any suggestions out there

You will have to call/check with somebody but I looked on both Summit and the Silvolite catalog and it appears the pin diameter reflects the floating type and cross over to a floating type part number from GM. GM part number https://paceperformance.com/i-878513...ating-pin.html https://www.summitracing.com/parts/uem-3499hc-std
https://www.uempistons.com/catalogs/...te_catalog.pdf

Again I would triple check what I found but I looked for 5 minutes and came across this info. Hopefully helpful.

If those are actually floating pin those are a better option than I posted. Smoking deal for forged slugs. That's about the best you'll do I imagine. $400 is about where Hypereutectic pistons land at, so forged is pretty good. I would make sure your deck heights and all that are inline for those slugs though.

Default Piston Weights

Hi Cam, my cost of a RaceTec , Auto Tech, "shelf" forged piston kit with rings, pins, clips is almost the same. ($450.00)

This includes custom bore size request AND a custom CD/weight at NO extra charge.

I DUE KNOW some of the pistons/pins/ring pack specified above are heavier.
That will result in a $200.00+ Balance Job requirement if heavier.

PLEASE weigh your piston/ring/pin and post that amount.

The good news is that if the piston weights are less by 1% you will not need to balance if the rod weights are equal.
The good news is that if your CD request is correct you could use the GMPP head gasket, a low cost quality MLS gasket, with a .040" Quench distance saving a Block Deck cost.
The good news is that the piston can have Valve Clearance pockets if requested at no cost increase.

Thus, look at the complete build costs, factor in machine cost/balance cost labor.

This type of engineering is included when you purchase a piston set form Pantera EFI.

Our RPMSpeed floating pin ls1 pistons are only $270 for the set. They are private label Silvolite.
