Default newbie

I'm new to the forum and new to building an LS2 for my Vette.

It's time for a rebuild. 177,000 miles and somehow a lifter took out a lobe. I don't have it all the way apart yet to know what failed, but salivating over the opportunity to do some mods when i rebuild it.

I intend to polish the intake ports, but not much else beyond new springs. maybe someday do an intake manifold.

Does anyone know a good thread or 2 for selecting a cam for an LS2 and associate method of tuning? I'm new to tuning as well.

get the heads done by AI or TEA.

it's like being a kid in a candy store with LS motors as far as cams are concerned. i would call a reputable place and tell them exactly what you are looking for, and they can spec out a cam for you.

You can search trough the Dyno Results section. Lots of feedback in there for a large variety of modifications.

Obviously cam and lifters. It's very hard to pick a cam for people not knowing if they want mild or wild, if they have an auto or stick, DD or weekend toy, autocross toy or drag. Way too many options.

The best cam selection is calling a Cam Motion, Texas Speed or Brian Tooley and discussing all options and them designing your cam.

Headers.

LOTS OF NITROUS. Kidding. If you're an auto get a stall.

Sticky tires.

Go from there.

If you wanna do head work on the cheap blend the bowls and get a valve job done. You can search that as well. Plenty on youtube about it.
