I have a ls6 cam springs and stock push rods all from the same motor.. I'e read I needed ls7 lifters? I' totally clueless on this part so all I need to know is what do I need to make this work. Not looking for major hp gains just need to know what I need to make my ls6 cam work in my 5.3l thank you

 

No you don’t “need” ls7 lifters. They’re just an upgrade. What year 5.3?

 

2001 I believe.

 

Should be a simple swap. The ls6 Cam has a smaller base circle so you need the ls6 pushrods. If you have those you should be good to go. However as always make sure you check your lifter preload

 

I would not put a ls6 cam in a 5.3 if it is going in a truck and if you are not bumping compression. It'll be a turd. Ask how I know...
