Default cam install questions

going with a tr220/220 114LSA, will this cam swap be a straight swap or will i need new springs and pushrods and such (how necessary), also will this cam being mild natured need to be tuned.

keep in mind there wont be any spray on this cam just looking for stock like idle with good hp gains through all powerband

You will need new springs and pushrods with any cam swap, and depending on year/mileage a new oil pump and/or timing chain wouldn;t be a bad idea too. I would use the Comp Cams 918 springs with a 220 cam. We've run 220 cams before on 112, and 114lsa, you can still hear a very very slight lope with the 114 depending on idle speed, but nothing extreme.

BTW are you going to TTU? We're located right outside the loop in Lubbock, so swing by if you need anything, or want to schedule in dyno time or tuning.

Definitely get some 918 springs. It is not necessary for the new chain and pushrods unless your stock ones are out of spec.

the stock springs can barely handle the stock cam lift...id definitely go to some 918s.....ull be ok with the stock pushrods...but hell ur already gonna be in there so just change em....very easy swap.....and the rockers are self aligning
