Default Fixing a long crank 6.0

I’ve got a spare 6.0 for my truck and Belair the downside is it’s an early iron headed one. Swapping on aluminum heads is no sweat but having a ready to go motor in case one of the others shells out is what I’m going for. Which brings me to the long crank situation. So, has anyone had the rear flange turned down the .400 difference? Is it possible? It seems cheaper than finding a newer crank and going that route.

It’ll be a spare motor, good to go behind either a 4l80 or T56

Yeah, you can run all of GM auto's with the long crank...not as easy with the T-56. It can be done, but it takes a lot of messing around.

EDIT: I'm in the same boat as you right now since I switched to a T-56 manual...after a lot of searching, I decided to just get another crank. (And that sucks because I already have my short block assembled...)

I found a good crank I’ll swap in for $100, probably chunk bearings in it while I’m there.
